Restaurant Director

We are seeking a highly experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our team at the Mandarin Oriental, Vienna.

The Mandarin Oriental, Vienna will house 151 guestrooms and suites, a restaurant, bar, and outdoor garden. Our spa will feature a range of treatment rooms, a swimming pool, and a fitness centre. We will also offer adaptable banqueting and meeting spaces for events and social occasions.

The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Create and control rosters and holiday planning
  • Guarantee smooth and guest-oriented work processes in close cooperation with all departments
  • Promote employee development, conduct feedback and appraisal interviews
  • Coordinate daily restaurant work to ensure a smooth service process according to our quality standards
  • Provide personal care and advice for our guests
  • Ensure guest satisfaction with the highest quality standards and professional handling of guest complaints
  • Innovate and strategize guest service and sales opportunities
  • Manage projects and administrative tasks

Requirements:

  • Completed vocational training in upscale hotel or fine dining, ideally 2-3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Leadership, organizational skills, and ability to lead a team of employees from different cultures with sensitivity and discipline
  • Expressiveness, open-mindedness, and team spirit
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of various cash register systems
  • Excellent manners, well-groomed appearance, and positive charisma
  • Flexibility and resilience, including night, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • Very good knowledge of German and English, additional foreign language skills an advantage
